We've got a great week lined up for you folks. Today we're going to be talking about the mysteries of the mind.

We're going to talk with one of the top mentalists in the world. Jim Carroll will be joining us.

And it's now being turned into a satanic bed and breakfast. Yeah, it's one of those stories you got to hear to believe.

Our guest this evening is Jim Carroll. He's been on NBC's today show Ellen Howard Stern, coast to coast, a yummy dozen or so times.

And he went from a steel worker in Alan Town, Pennsylvania to one of the world's top mentalists. I want to welcome you to the show. Jim, thank you so much for joining us tonight.

Hey, thank you, Dave, for having me. What a fascinating turn. How do you how do you go from a steel worker to you know what? I think I want to be a mentalist.

You know, there is a story there actually when I like the Billy Joel song living here in Alan Town, that was kind of my life. I was destined to work in a steel mill. I didn't do well in high school.

I had to go to summer school to get my diploma and I ended up at the steel just like my dad and my neighbors and everything else. And life was good living here in Alan Town and I ended up getting married, had a baby.

And while on the way for the second child, I lost my job. I got laid off just like everybody else down there. And I didn't know what to do. I'm like, what do I do now?

So fortunately for me, when working at the steel mill, I met a gentleman that owned a magic shop. And up until that time, I didn't do any kind of magic. I didn't do tricks or anything. And I met this guy. He invited me to his magic shop. I went up there and I started spending a lot of time up there, spending a great deal of money from my paychecks when I worked at the steel.

And that ended up being a good thing because what I ended up doing when I got laid off was I took my wife's AVE on account because she was pregnant. And I went door to door selling AVE on. It was amazing.
