You know, it just occurred to me, and have a quote and then I totally forgot to, oh,

it was Talleyrand, Talleyrand, okay.

So Talley Rand was a famous politician back in the day.

There's this old quote, the Bourbons of France.

Now, the House de Bourbon, the House of Bourbon is a very famous royal line in Europe.

The Spanish derived from them, the French derived from them.

There are lots of little royal families and ducal families that are from the bourbons. The French, of course, very famously, were the last

line of the bourbons in France, in Talleyrand, the leader, politician, foreign diplomat. He once

said the bourbons had learned nothing and forgotten nothing.

It's a very famous line, they learned nothing and they forgot nothing.

They held all of their grudges and grievances, and they never learned anything.

And ultimately, they lost their heads in France and were shut out of

power. They tried a resurgence after the fall of the Republican, Napoleon, European powers

favored monarchies. They tried to put them back in. It didn't last. It didn't work. They collapsed.

Napoleon the third rose. That didn't work. France has largely been a republic ever since,

for better or worse. I sometimes wonder if the Republican Party is becoming like the bourbons.

They've learned nothing and they've forgotten nothing.
