the election. I played you the ads in the first hour. We got to talk about some election stuff

The phone number is 877979372425. The television show Ted Lassau on Apple TV Plus made famous a phrase from football, that is soccer for those of us in the land of the free,

the home of the brave where we play real football.

And the phrase is, it's the hope that kills you.

I forget the guy's name, but there was a military leader, I believe he was an admiral,

not an admiral.

He was a high-ranking military official who was captured by the Vietnamese with John McCain.

And a lot of men died in the Hanoi Hilton.

And this guy was asked what separated him from them.

And he said pessimism.

That he was a pessimist. and it was the optimists whose spirits were broken they expected

something better they expected something good they expected something great and they were continually disappointed and never let go and it was the hope that killed them

now we we got to i got to distinguish something here real quick as as we head into easter in

particular you know in the new testament in, it talks a lot about hope, the hope of the resurrection

in particular, the hope of things to come.

And we, in our vernacular, we treat the word hope as the wish the desire the thing we want badly we hope

for snow tomorrow if we're a kid we hope to be able to get tickets to the masters it's the

hope that kills us.

In Scripture, in the New Testament, please understand, as we head into this season and you start hearing a lot of Christians talk about the hope of the resurrection and stuff.
