Let's begin here.

Unless you're a moderate Democrat, that speech was not for you.

And Vladimir Putin as well.

We should be fair here.

I was told by people familiar with the President and the White House is thinking on the speech.

One of the things they wanted to do out of the gate was have that Ukraine moment first

because there's increasing view within military and intelligence circles that Vladimir Putin is very isolated

in Russia right now. He's not regularly in the Kremlin. He's going through a number of

people who are his yes man, a sink offense. They won't give him the whole truth. But if he

dares ask for a transcript of or listens to the speech at the beginning,

what did Joe Biden say,

he will get the unvarnished view from the United States

that we view the Kremlin as isolated

and Vladimir Putin as the bad guy here

because Putin seems to think that people were going to accept his embrace

and his statement that the Ukrainians were Nazis and move into Ukraine.

He seemed to have misread the cinnamon in the air there.

And so by speaking directly to him and to the American people

explaining the situation, Biden could give and convey to the Kremlin an accurate sentiment

of how he and the United States sees the situation. Whether that's true or not, and that is,
