As you are aware, I grew up in Dubai.

We had one music channel.

And that music channel played a variety of music from,

I mean, everything, other than rap.

It was classical music in the mornings.

Then there was American Top 40 with Casey Kasem.

And then in the evenings, it would be British pop.

And then if one of the shakes died or one of the female ruling house members, it was like a week to a month, depending on their status of just classical music.

That was it. That was our only radio outlet in Dubai the entire time I was there, one English speaking station.

But we had TV shows, mostly from Britain, that highlighted a lot of favorites.

I was not into music at an early age other than classical music because I was a nerd.

My sisters, however, my lord did they love the 80s.

And now I am married to a woman who knows nothing but 80s music.

My musical taste developed in the 90s when I moved back to the States.

Pearl Jam, greatest band of all time. I when I moved back to the States. Pearl Jam,

And I love modern rock. I love alternative. My wife, however, musical tastes, it stopped after about 89. That is the last year that music was good for my wife. So in 1983, new radio station comes online in New York, Z-100.
