I probably shouldn't spend a ton of time here, but I am, just so you know.

Because I want it on the record now before the election arrives.

And I need to step back and give you some history.

In 2004, George W. Bush got reelected.

This was one of those times Democrats declared an illegitimate election and claimed he had stolen Ohio and paid no price by the media.

Bush then did two, three things he shouldn't have done. One was a rapid reform of social security.

He hadn't really built a behind the scenes base of support within the Republicans for it, though they controlled everything. He couldn't really built a behind-the-scenes base of support within the Republicans for it.

He then decided to put Harriet Myers on the Supreme Court, his personal lawyer, and conservatives had great doubts about her, and they turned on him.

And he tried to get immigration reform done in ways that alienated the Republican base.
