There aren't many races in 1995.

There aren't many races in 1995 that don't involve some sort of drama between Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill,

and that's certainly the case with that year's Belgian Grand Prix,

where the two locked horns and for once managed not to wipe each other out.

But they came close, and in Hill's view at the time, too close, as Schumacher's behaviour

in battles put under the microscope.

But how does his driving look under a mid-2020s microscope?

back into the contentious 1995 season. I confessed 1995 superfan Matt Beard and certainly

confessed Damon Hill superfan Ben Anderson. Matt will make the Hill loyalist wait for his moment.

When you think of the 1995 Belgian Grand Prix,

what's the first thing that comes to mind? The first six laps. I know this is a great

Hill Schumacher spat race and eventual Schumacher heroic win, but it's the bit before they

turn up at the start that just, I almost feel emotional about how excited I was watching this as a 15 year old you just did not get F1 racing in the mid-90s quite like this with this many proper wheel-to-wheel passes for things that mattered of course they didn't matter in the end because all those cars then retired or threw it off the road and it was back to Hill and Schumacher but those first five six laps were absolutely were absolutely incredible. If you haven't actually watched them in full, find them and watch them. They're amazing. It's that classic, whenever you have kind of dominant people at the front or the same people at the front all the time, you always have that, oh, what would it be like if you just took away, like the top two or all of the top one? You know, whenever you're like, if you just took away, the person or or the top one you know whenever you're like

if you just took away the person or people that are always at the front how good would it be and

I've never even thought of it like that but you're right it's chaos in those early laps because you've

got you've got all the people that you can't rely on trying to battle at the front
