It's no secret at this point that 15-year-old Jennifer Jephley was ultimately convicted

for the murder of Catalina Palamino.

In last week's episode, we tracked Jennifer's journey throughout the 36 hours immediately following

the murder. We learned that she offered the police no less than four different stories,

ultimately landing on a written statement that incriminated her.

We know from Detective Waman Allen's own testimony that Jennifer was changing her story

to fit with details that he was providing to her throughout the 7-hour interrogation.

Today, we're going to learn exactly what she said that led to her arrest.

We're going to hear the full evolution from her initial verbal statement to police

to both of her written statements.

Jennifer's written statements were supposedly typed up by Detective Allen using her exact words.

These written statements will be voiced by actress and voiceover artists, the very talented Naima Funk,

who volunteered her time to help out with today's episode.

The best way to tackle the task of tracking all of Jennifer's statements is to move through

the Houston PD Incident Report chronologically. In my FOIA production for HPD, the first time we see

Jennifer's name mentioned is on a report written by an officer, Peekert. His report states that he

was dispatched to the scene in regards to a DOA. This is what he says about Jennifer.

Quote, witness Jennifer Jeff Lee states that she stays above the complaint,

and that at approximately 9.20am, she heard the complaint in the Alpha Help.
