The Good evening, happy Halloween, and welcome to Monsters Among Us.

I am your guide, Derk Hayes.

A happy Sawa and a happy Halloween to you and yours.

May tonight's nightmares find you well and filled with candy.

Now this is the time of year when life gives up its hold, and for the next six months

we're destined to endure a dark and cold winter.

But back in the day of the Celts, this was a celebration with much importance. It was paramount to

enjoy oneself, because after all, this winter could be their last.

They celebrated the nourishment their harvest had provided.

But most importantly, they celebrated, perhaps with a healthy fear, the coming of the dark months.

And as those months approach, so do the spirits of the dead and their legion of familiars. For this time of year also marks the point when the veil between our world

and that of the spirit world is the thinnest. It's said to allow visitors of all kinds to wander in and out.

But these days we take things a little lighter, but there's no denying that there's still

a bit of magic in the air.

A feeling you only get on Halloween.

So tonight we celebrate in our own way by sharing a few sinister stories.

Tales of ghost, goblins, witches, black cats, beastly hounds.
