So I'd say that one of the biggest aspects of modern home setting for many of us is this

idea of raising our children in this lifestyle.

I know if you're anything like me, children were one of the main reasons I wanted to begin

home sitting in the first place.

I wanted my kids to have that whole some old fashioned way to grow up.

However, this idea of an old fashioned childhood is much easier said than done in our current

culture that really prizes helicopter parenting and hovering over turning the kids loose and

letting them figure things out.

So I wanted to bring on one of the foremost authorities on this idea of free range kids.

So today I am so thrilled to have with me, Lenore Scanazi.

She is the author of the book free range kids and the founder of free rage kids.com.

She runs a nonprofit called let grow, which is working to make it easy, normal and legal

to give kids independence.

They've even changed some laws in some states and are working towards more free time for

kids, which we're going to talk about a bunch in our interview today.
