We were midway through this season on comprehension when we discovered a piece from Dr. Timothy

Shanahan titled Don't Confuse Reading Comprehension and Learning to Read and Reread.

Dr. Shanahan's post was only about 1,500 words,

but it raised some profound questions about comprehension,

and the circumstances in which comprehension is and isn't our primary objective.
