I'm joined with my colleagues, Susan Simpson and Colin Miller.

And we are doing this bonus episode to cover the most recent appellate hearing in the Adnan Sayad case.

Hey, Rabia.

This hearing took place on November 29th, and this hearing was before the Court of Appeals,

which is the highest court in Maryland.

Just to refresh your memory, the last two courts,

the circuit court and the Court of Special Appeals,

both overturned Ad non's conviction based on

different issues then they kind of switched out the state keeps appealing it so this is i suppose

kind of the final level state appeal right the final state appeal they can do on these issues that's it

theoretically theoretically could be remanded back down to the Court of Special Appeals, but yeah, probably this is the last

stage.

We can't go up again, but we can't go down again.

We can go down again and start it all over.

And that would happen if, so there's two issues before this court.

One is, of course, the ever-persistent Asia alibi issue and ineffective

assistance of counsel in that situation, or whether there's an effective assistance of
