Welcome to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace. The Bible tells one big story of redemption,

0:09.1

and we want to spend five minutes every day journeying through the Bible from start to

0:14.3

finish and exploring how all of it points to Jesus.

0:19.6

Hey everybody, this is Kristen and you're listening to the year in the Bible with Daily

0:26.0

Grace podcast. And today we're finishing up the book of numbers. Yay! And so this is our last

0:32.9

discussion on this book. We're going to be talking about numbers, chapters 34 through 36.

0:39.3

And as we start these chapters, we pick up in 34 with the Lord who gave Moses the boundaries of

1:20.7

his people to divide up the land fully. I love that. And then in chapter 35, God reiterates his

1:28.5

inheritance for the Levites. They are to be scattered as priests throughout the land without

1:34.7

any official inheritance. And they are to be given six cities of refuge where someone could go

1:40.7

if they killed someone on accident. And so, for example, if someone is out in a field and they

1:46.2

swung their acts and accidentally hit someone and killed them, they could escape to a city of

1:51.3

refuge. So an angry relative wouldn't seek vengeance without her first hearing the full story.

1:58.0

And if a person did, in fact, murder someone in cold blood, they would be tried before the assembly

2:02.7

and judged for their actions. But if it was an accident, the city of refuge would serve as a

2:08.2

protection for accidents like these. And finally, we conclude these chapters and the book of numbers
