0:09.1

And we want to spend five minutes every day journeying through the Bible from start to finish

0:15.3

and exploring how all of it points to Jesus.

0:19.6

Hey guys, my name is Kristen and this is a year in the Bible with Daily Grace Podcast.

0:27.9

Today we're going to be talking about the book of Numbers, which is the fourth book of the Bible.

0:31.8

But before we dive in, let's talk a little bit about where we are so far

0:35.6

and the big picture narrative of Scripture. So if you remember back with me to the book of Exodus,

0:40.8

the people of Israel had been slaves in Egypt, but they were miraculously delivered from their harsh

they're excited to see at the land that God had promised them. And as they start here in chapter

1:29.0

one, God tells Moses to take a census or to count how many people there are. So Moses and Aaron

1:36.0

divide the people into tribes and they appoint leaders over the tribes. So they give the tribes

1:41.7

locations or dwelling spots in chapter two. So think about it kind of like if you've ever gone camping

1:46.5

with a group before. You're laying out the land. You have to work through the logistics like

1:51.6

our family is going to sleep here. Yours is going to sleep there. We'll cook here. We'll have

1:56.0

bathrooms over there. That kind of thing. So that's kind of what they're doing here. They're making

2:00.8

preparations for their journey, including where the families will sleep, how they'll travel,
