Hello everyone, welcome back to a year in the Bible with daily grace. This is Stephanie

and we are continuing in the book of Leviticus. Today we are covering chapters 22-24. Let's jump

right in.

Did chapter 22 sound redundant? Again, we see more instructions on ceremonial cleanliness

for priests and what constitutes an acceptable offering. You may have thought, okay, we

get it. It's important to be clean and it's important for the animal sacrifices to be

without blemish. If so, you're not alone. But we have to remember the big picture here.

This is the system that God set forth for his people to approach him. And in adhering

to these things, the Israelites were declaring God to be their holy and good God. And ultimately,

this whole system points to Jesus. He is the final perfect sacrifice who makes way for

sinners to dwell in the presence of God forever. He is the high priest who even now is

interceding on behalf of his people. He is our mediator. He is our advocate. I love how this

chapter ends. We are reminded again that it is God who sanctifies us. That was true then and it

is true now. Chapter 23 is all about beasts that were to be observed by God's people. As the

Lord says in verse 2, these are holy convocations. They are sacred to the Lord. The first one

mentioned is the Sabbath. This is the day of rest that was to be observed weekly. It is the

fourth commandment in the Ten Commandments. The rest of the Feast, Sixth and Total are mentioned

in the order that they appear in the Jewish calendar. First is the Passover. We read about this in
