Welcome back to year in the Bible of Daily Grace. My name is Alexa and today we are continuing

our city of Judges by looking at Judges 10 through 12. Judges 10 starts off by naming

some more judges that have rolled over Israel for some time. Israel's cycle of disobedience

starts again as they go back to worshiping gods after the judge Jay or dies.

Chapter 10 lists out all of the gods that Israel chooses to worship. And the list is pretty

upsetting. By worshiping these gods, the people of Israel were serving the gods at their

enemies. As a result, God punishes them and sells them a slavery. Once again, Israel cries

out to God to save them and emits their sin to the Lord. Israel has become like a child.

We only seek help after experiencing the consequences of his mistake. God reminds the Israelites

that he has saved them over and over again. But even after saving them, they still go

back to their evil ways. In essence, he tells them, if you want to worship other gods

besides me, why don't you have those gods save you? But the people of Israel again

emits their sin, ask for deliverance, and put the gods they have worshiped away. But

even after returning to serve the Lord, the Israelites search for someone to fight for

them, since God has not raised up another judge. Soon, the Israelites ask for the help

of a man named Jefta, a man they previously rejected because of illegitimate birth. The

text is clear that God does not raise up Jefta with the other judges he has for Israel.

Jefta even says that if God brings the Ammonites into his hands, then he would be head over
