Today we're going to take a look at Isaiah 43 through 45.

In these chapters, we will jump back and forth

between the current events of Isaiah's time

as well as the future hope of Christ.

We want to remember once again that Israel, the Northern Kingdom, has been conquered by Assyria at this point.

Isaiah is now prophesying to Judah the Southern Kingdom.

The future exile they face is still at least 100 years away and the redemption God promised

through Cyrus of Persia to return a remnant to Jerusalem is at least 150 years away.

Chapter 43 is filled with some often quoted verses.

This chapter speaks to God's glory, greatness, and sovereignty in all things.

V verses 1 through 7 remind us that across every generation God comforts his chosen people.

He would comfort Judah when they went into exile, and he comforts us today through the salvation that Jesus provides.
