Alexa and today we finish our study of the book of Hosea by looking at

Jose 11 through 14. In hosea 11 we receive a beautiful but sad

picture of God's relationship with Israel. God compares himself to a loving parent and Israel to a child. He describes how he loves

Israel and has been the one holding their hand and guiding them and the one feeding and

taking care of them.

Yet Israel has been like a rebellious and ungrateful child

by turning away from him and toward idols.

Because of their disobedience, Israel will be held captive by Assyria.

But even in this punishment, God says to Israel, how can I give you up?

And promises to withhold the full amount of his wrath upon Israel.

While they will still experience exile, God promises to bring them back and restore their land.
