0:28.4	Alexa and today we finish our study of the book of Hosea by looking at
0:32.2	Jose 11 through 14. In hosea 11 we receive a beautiful but sad
0:37.9	picture of God's relationship with Israel. God compares himself to a loving parent and Israel to a child. He describes how he loves
0:47.2	Israel and has been the one holding their hand and guiding them and the one feeding and
0:52.0	taking care of them.
0:53.0	Yet Israel has been like a rebellious and ungrateful child
0:56.0	by turning away from him and toward idols.
0:59.0	Because of their disobedience, Israel will be held captive by Assyria.
1:04.7	But even in this punishment, God says to Israel, how can I give you up?
1:10.0	And promises to withhold the full amount of his wrath upon Israel.
1:14.5	While they will still experience exile, God promises to bring them back and restore their land.
1:20.5	In Hossa 12, Josea specifically speaks to Judah's sin.
1:25.0	Jose brings up Jacob's past as examples of Jacob striving with God.
1:30.0	Like their forefather, Judah must stop their wrestling against God and return back to him, placing their hope in him.
1:37.0	Like their forefather, Judah must stop the wrestling against God and return back to God, placing their hope in him.
1:43.4	In Isaiah 13, God speaks of his relationship with Israel again,
1:47.8	saying that there is no savior for Israel but him.
1:50.9	He is the one who rescued them from Egypt and took care of them in the wilderness,
1:55.2	but Israel soon forgot him and God will punish them for their rebellion.
