It's estimated that the voodoo religion has been around for close to 10,000 years.

Popularized once it came over into the United States and mixing with a number of

different religions and different sex, it seems to evolve and change wherever it ends up.

We've got a very interesting guest for this this evening, and for those of you that are fans of sci-fi

and all of the magic and mystic shows. A few weeks back, there's a new show called Sci-Fi Investigates

where they went to New Orleans, where they wanted to dig into a little bit more about voodoo, find out about it,

and I was reacquainted with somebody I recognized. I actually took this tour about eight, nine years ago

when I was out in New Orleans. It was a lady that took us through the haunted sections of New Orleans,

told us all the background and history, and gave us quite a bit of information regarding voodoo.

Now that we're coming into the Halloween season, I thought it might kind of an interesting little take to take our listeners

on to the myths and legends and monsters that have made Halloween what it is,

and one of the things that we don't usually talk about at Halloween is voodoo.
