with me, Daisy Egan. I'm a writer and an actor who would absolutely be one of the loonies

on a roof with a sign asking the alien invaders to take me home with them. This week, sure,

kids say the darnedest things, but when dozens of them all claim to have witnessed the same

exact thing, maybe we should take them seriously? Two stories about schoolchildren witnessing

UFOs and their insistence decades later that what they said happened really happened.

On the afternoon of April 6, 1966, the students and staff at the West All School, a high school

in Queensland, Australia saw something hovering over the field behind the school. Richard

Greenwood, a science teacher in his first year of teaching, explained it this way. Like

a thin beam of light about half the length of a light aircraft, it was silvery gray and

seemed to thicken at times. The thickening was similar to when a disc is turned to show

the undecided. Some children who had been outside when the disc appeared started screaming,

running inside for cover. Others ran out of the school and toured the field beyond the

recess yard to get a closer look. Some sat down and cried, afraid this meant the end of
