How's isolation?

Well, as a freelance writer, it's not much different to my normal life.

So, yeah, in fact, I'm actually seeing more people and going out more than I normally do for my exercise.

So I'm one of the lucky ones, I think.

Also, I've got a vast amount of music to listen to and things to write and read.

So, hooray for isolation.

So the album that you've picked is John Lennon's October 1971 album, Imagine.

So why did you choose this particular one?

Well, it's weird because it's weird because any other artist,

this would be regarded as an all-time classic

masterpiece of melody and lyrics, but because it's John Lennon, the eternal rebel, the voice

of truth, a lot of people look down their noses at it. There's a lot of snobbery about

imagining. On the one hand, you've got people singing it all around the world

looking for, I don't know, peace and beauty in life. On the other hand, you've got people

going, oh, imagine no possessions. He had two hats, you know. Yeah. So there's that. It's the

line that stuck with him, isn't it? So this is John's second proper album, I guess, after the previous year's John Lennon Placitona band.

And sessions for this started in February 71 at Abbey Road.
