Summary

In the late 1960s, it appeared that a serial killer was stalking the cities of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, Michigan. Was 23-year-old Jane Mixer a victim the serial killer? Or did someone else kill her? It would take over three decades before her family finally got answers.

0:15.4	happened in March, 1969. On March 3, Syrahann-Sir-Han admitted in court to assassinating presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy in June, 1968.
0:27.6	A week later, James Earl Ray plead guilty to killing civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King.
0:33.6	He later recanted his plea.
0:36.6	On March 17, Golden Mayor became Israel's first female prime minister.
0:41.6	On March 20th, John Lennon and Yoko Ono got married.
0:46.7	That month, 23-year-old Jane Mixer was attending the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
0:53.6	Mixer was a freshman in law school.
0:56.9	She was one of just 37 female law students that year.
1:01.6	Her family lived in Muskegon, which is on the shores of Lake Michigan.
1:06.6	It's about 170 miles northwest of the university.
1:11.0	Mixer was a bright young woman who had been valedictorian of her high school.
1:16.0	In her speech, which school officials did not approve,
1:19.1	Mixer called for social justice.
1:22.1	At university, Mixer was considered a loner,
1:24.8	but she had been dating a young man, and they had recently gotten engaged.
1:30.8	Mixer was looking for a ride home from University on March 20th.
1:35.5	So she posted a message on the student university bulletin board.
1:40.5	A man who called himself David Johnson offered to give her a ride and Mixer accepted the offer.
1:46.0	Mixer told her parents that they were leaving Ann Arbor around 6 p.m. and she would be at their home at around 9.30.
