Summary

When the granddaughter of one of America's best-known publishing magnates was kidnapped in 1974, the news of course grabbed headlines. But that was nothing compared to the attention the case would receive after Patricia Hearst joined forces with her abductors. The group at the heart of the kidnapping was known as the Symbionese Liberation Army, a radical group of young adults considered to be the first domestic terrorist group to rise out of the political left.

1:21.0	I began as a boring night in the quiet apartment that Patricia Hearst shared with her fiance Steven Weed, the two had eaten dinner together, cleaned up the dishes,
1:31.0	and were settling in for yet another less than thrilling evening, watching television on the couch.
1:38.0	But then came a knock on the apartment door. Weed opened it to a young woman looking concerned and apologetic.
1:45.0	She'd been backing up her car, she explained, and she thinks she had another car that must belong with someone in this unit.
1:52.0	Patricia was annoyed. For starters, someone hitting their car sucked, and also she was wearing nothing but a robe, her panties, and a pair of fuzzy slippers.
2:03.0	She really didn't want to deal with this right now.
2:06.0	Suddenly, two men armed with big guns burst through the door and ordered Steve and Patricia to the ground.
2:13.0	Steve protested and was slammed in the head within M1 carbine.
2:18.0	Though Patricia coward on the ground is ordered, she states surprisingly calm.
2:24.0	Her boyfriend, not so much. His screams drew the attention of a neighbor who came from his nearby apartment to check out the ruckus.
2:32.0	The next thing the neighbor knew, he too was on the ground, a gun in his face.
2:37.0	Get your face on the floor, the intruder's ordered. Then they started asking, where's the safe?
2:44.0	It was an odd request of college students living in a modest apartment, and predictably there was no safe.
2:51.0	But the demand naturally made Steve assume that the couple was being robbed.
