Up to this point in the podcast,

we've walked you through the timeline of the Berger Chef Murders.

We started at the robbery and we ended at the discovery of the bodies.

So we started at that very first call to the Speedway Police Department.

And we explained that that call came from a Berger Chef employee

that it stopped by to help close.

And how that report stated among other things that the rear door was open.

The door to the safe was open.

The cash register drawer was on the floor.

And of course, all the employees were gone.

Then we explained how officers just simply dismissed it as teenagers being irresponsible.

And how instead of treating it like a crime scene,

they allowed employees to clean up, secure the building,

and open for business the following day.

We talked about what those officers did not know.

They did not know that $500 was missing from the safe

and they did not know that these weren't just teenagers being irresponsible.
