We're talking about John and Horace Dodge, the brothers that started the Dodge brand.

Did you know they actually did a lot of work with Henry Ford? Yeah, they built a ton of stuff for Ford,

a lot of engines, transmissions for those Model T's. Eventually, they're able to start their own company

and take it to Henry Ford, the eccentric weird guy who ate a lot of weeds around his house

because he believed it was healthier than vegetables.

John Dodge, the nerdier and more marketing focused Dodge brother, was searching for any way

he could to position their brand new Dodge 3035 as a better Model T. Henry Ford was blasting the public with a full-on campaign

around his very successful car that was, in John's opinion and reality, an unsafe piece of

junk. John wanted to prove his car was much safer than the Model A, which had a precariously

mounted gas tank directly under the front seat and was prone to fires.
