In today's episode, we're going to discuss a case that had no shortage of suspects.

But it would take years before the case was finally closed.

The case we're talking about today happened in a small town called Bridgeton.

Bridgeton is a resort town in southwest Maine.

It's the setting of the 1980s Stephen King novella, The Mist.

King revisited the town in 2009 with his novel Under the Dome.

The city and under the dome is called Chester Mills and its base off Bridgeton. In the early 1990s, Bridgeton had a population of about 4,300 people.

In the summer of 1992, 28-year-old Crystal Perry bought a house there for her and her 10-year-old daughter, Sarah Perry.

Crystal worked at a shoe factory in Bridgeton. The mother and daughter lived a quiet but happy life.
