0:05.0	In this episode, we're going to take a look at two brutal murders that were unsolved for decades.
0:11.0	These two cases have some eerie similarities.
0:14.0	The first case we'll look at happen on Easter weekend, 1960 in McAllen, Texas.
0:35.6	McAllen is a city in the Rio Grande Valley, not far from the border of Mexico.
0:41.3	It was home to about 32,000 people in 1960. A resident of the city was 25-year-old Irene Garza.
0:46.3	Garza was born on November 15, 1934 in McAllen.
0:52.3	Her family owned and operated a dry cleaning business. Garza was a beautiful
1:00.0	and popular young woman. She was a twirler, head drummajorette, and homecoming queen.
1:07.0	In 1958, she was named Miss South Texas.
1:11.6	In 1960, 25-year-old Garza was teaching second grade.
1:17.6	Garza was a devout Catholic.
1:21.6	She went to church every Sunday, and every Saturday she went to confession.
1:28.3	On the evening of Saturday, April 16th, Garza went to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and McAllen.
1:35.3	It was Holy Saturday, which is the day before Easter, and she was dressed in a white veil.
1:42.3	Irene made the sign of the cross as she entered the sanctuary.
1:47.0	She knelt in a pew to pray.
1:50.0	Then she went to wait in line for confession.
1:54.0	People remember seeing her in the church, but no one remembered her leaving.
2:00.0	Garza lived with her parents, and they became more than seeing her in the church, but no one remembered her leaving.
2:07.1	Garza lived with her parents, and they became worried when she didn't return home that night.
2:10.5	So, she was reported missing.
