Some crimes are so heartbreaking or shocking that they earn the label crime of the century.

But the stories that made headlines and decades passed aren't necessarily remembered today.

A group of breathless teenagers, some bruised and covered in dust, had come to paint rock

Alabama with an incredible story.

They said they'd been aboard a southern railroad freight train when all of a sudden, a different

group of boys ruthlessly picked a fight over powering them with guns and knives and even

physically throwing some of them off the moving train.

Under different circumstances, this tale might not have garnered much attention because

the complaining teens had been stole ways on the train and the other group had been too.

So this was basically a fight between two groups of hobos catching illegal rides for free
