Summary

Danielle was my friend - a person in my orbit who read my book to be polite (and perhaps interested!) but mostly just because I wrote one. And then one day she began suffering from a bizarre and frightening condition. It was hard to watch her walk that path, but I knew that she needed to reach true readiness to begin applying this work to her life. A gentle suggestion opened her mind, and it's been breathtaking to watch her life change before my eyes. Join us as we cuddle in my bed and chat with you about JournalSpeak, how it changed Dani forever, and how it could do the same for you. Today we are here, you and me. Welcome to the Cure for Chronic Pain. It's a podcast. It's my podcast.

0:27.0

I'm Nicole Sachs, LCSW, and I am here to spread the love, spread the hope, and talk about Chronic Pain Recovery in any way that makes sense to you, in any language that will speak to you and hopefully open some willingness in you to find a way to get better to do the work to open yourself to yourself.

0:53.0

So here we are today. I am bringing you a very fun interview that I did. Often times on this pod I interview people who have been former clients, have contacted me from around the world and have healed themselves using my work and Dr. Sarno's principles.

1:12.0

Today I have a rather interesting story for you. The person I'm interviewing today is the beautiful and talented Danielle first. She is a dear friend of mine, one of my best friends on this planet, and a person for whom I have tremendous respect.

1:30.0

And the reason that I know her is because we will actually the reason I know her has nothing to do with this work. The reason that I know her and she's eligible to be interviewed on this podcast is because even though we were just regular friends, you know, having nothing to do with my professional life, she went through a very odd and confusing time where she was having a chronic condition that she couldn't imagine could possibly be TMS.

1:57.0

She had only recently even learned what TMS was when she read my book for the first time and when she read it for the first time, she read it just to support me because I was a friend of hers and I had written a book having no idea it would ever apply to her life.

2:11.0

And the way it went down was just super interesting and heart opening for me and she's going to tell that story today and she's going to tell a story that began with a chronic condition but really blossomed into a journal speak practice, a daily practice that has transformed her entire life and I've watched her transform and it's been really a very amazing and beautiful thing and very profound for me.

2:37.0

Being a friend to her and also being able to be a gentle guide when it comes to her health.

2:42.0

And so I'm here to talk to Danielle today and share our conversation which I mean she is just such a buddy of mine.

2:51.0

When it came time to plan this interview I said listen let's not do it on the computer. I said come to my house, let's get in my bed.

2:58.0

I literally recorded this podcast with her sitting in my bed because the acoustics in my room it's everything's carpeted and draped and it just felt like the best place to record a podcast because we had to share one microphone.

3:10.0

So if the acoustics aren't perfect, sorry about that. But you know I'm just getting started out I only have one microphone.

3:17.0

But she came to my room we cuddled in my bed and we had this conversation which was so warm and so lovely and really told the exact story of how this all went down.

3:26.0

How she was in the grips of something really terrifying and upsetting to her and how journal speak pulled her out and then the practice of which just transformed her entire life.

3:39.0

And for any of you guys thinking about coming to my Omega retreat which is going to be July 21st through the 26th at the beautiful Omega Institute in Rhineback, New York.

3:51.0

I'm almost sure Danielle will also be there probably doing some musical accompaniment maybe some sound meditation maybe just hanging out with all of us.

4:03.0

She is in her professional life a composer. She is an amazingly talented musician. She composes. She plays the piano like an angel and she sings and she's just amazing.

4:17.0

I mean everybody's always so taken when she takes the stage and she also scores documentary film and has many credits out there that are really impressive and impactful.

4:29.0

So that's Danielle. She's an amazing person and I'm really grateful to have her in my life and hopefully if you guys decide to join me at Omega you will also be able to make her acquaintance.

4:41.0

And hopefully a lot of other people that I've interviewed on this podcast I think pretty much all of the people I interviewed are at least planning to come should fit into their lives this summer.

4:51.0

And I actually just heard from Omega today and the podcast this is today we're doing the podcast the retreat will be live to sign up on March 1st.
