Summary
With its current re-release in China, the film AVATAR becomes the highest grossing film of all time. That's how much the people of the world are enchanted by the forests of Pandora, the wisdom of the Na'vi, and the drama of the Avatar.
All of those emerge from the mind of writer-director James Cameron, known not only for his extraordinary record as a filmmaker (Titanic, the Terminator films, etc.) but also as a deep sea explorer.
I was excited to have a chance to sit down for a deep dive conversation with Jim Cameron, covering everything from the mysteries of Avatar to the current state of American capitalism. As he puts it, humanity is on a precipice between being "takers" and being "caretakers." Which we choose will make all the difference.
Cameron is one of the geniuses of our time, and it was an honor to get to know him.
