Summary

Julie S. Lalonde was stalked by her abusive ex-boyfriend for over ten years. Julie begins dating a good looking and charismatic high school classmate who becomes abusive and jealous of her life and aspirations. After she leaves him, he begins stalking her daily for the next five years, harassing her friends, tapping her phone calls, and sending her inappropriate gifts. She eventually takes him to court where the justices of the peace chastise her for wasting the court's time with her case. Julie emerges from her traumatic ordeal becoming an internationally recognized women's rights advocate, public educator, and the author of Resilience Is Futile: The Life and Death and Life of Julie S. Lalonde chronicling her story of survival, courage, and ultimately, hope.
