We sit in his Honda next to a busy street, a couple of medical office buildings in view.

We start with pretty standard get to know you stuff.

He's married two kids, does consulting work for utility companies to protect nearby birds.

I've always been interested in the environment and the outdoors and wildlife.

I think I traced it back to my grandma who always liked birds.

Matt's a big guy, 64.

I feel a little bad that I asked him to do an interview from his small car.

But we're talking here because of the building next to us.

It's nothing special to me, but it's a landmark from Matt's childhood.

This is the building where Matt was conceived.

I was her first born son and her first child.

We were a drive along 86 straight here.

To her, this is a very happy place.

She was just ecstatic.

She's like, you know, this is the building I got pregnant with you in.

Matt views those memories differently now.

He picks up a coffee cup in his lap as he tells me the story.
