Reviewing every King Queen from Alfred the great to Elizabeth the second and deciding which

ones have the crucial greatness factor which we call the Rex factor.

Saxon Kingdom had really gone downhill over 38 year rain, increasing Viking rain,

getting to the point at which the Saxons are, well, briefly conquered by Sven Forkbeard,

that he dies quickly, Ethelred comes back, and then is beset by more invasions from Canute.

But then when Ethelred dies, we have a standoff between Edmonde,

inside the Saxon and Canute the Viking and they have a number of battles before

coming together at Assendon in 1016 where Canute wins but nevertheless they have a peace treaty they agreed to

partition the kingdom when one of them dies the other inherits the whole thing and

unfortunately for Edmund he dies first so in 1016 canute becomes king

just a little bit about him first he was born roughly about 995 we're not quite sure

so he's the son of Sven Forkbeard and

Cigrid the haughty who apparently was the daughter of a Polish king so he's half

Polish.
