What's upset you now?

So the thing that annoyed me this week was an email from Tesco telling me how much shopping I'd done that month.

And I realise I just keep getting emails from companies like telling me, oh, this is what

you bought this month and look what you've done with us.

As though we've got, we're in like a relationship and it's like a report.

Like it's like a work thing.

Like it's like we're having an appraisal every month of here's what you did. Here's what you could have done. And it's like, I know, I know you monitor everything I buy. And I know that there's a sort of stalkerish element. But you don't have to tell me. You don't have to kind of like remind me every month. Oh yeah, we are, we are monitoring everything.

What are they sort of hoping to achieve with that? What's the sort of... I think it is meant to make you feel like we're pals, you know, that like I go there and... Are you pals? I don't think so. I don't feel that sense of... I mean, you know, I do go to Tesco a lot, or I do use Tesco online shopping a lot, but it's only because they're the ones in our area. I see Tesco's a lot more than I see any of my other friends. Yes. That's true. That's true. The same is for me, but yeah, same. They're more nourishing, certainly, than some of them. I definitely get more... And is there any sort of patterns you've noticed developing through this communication where you're like, oh, that's a bit worrying. Or like, is it? Well, that is depressing because at the end of every year, they, you know, like Spotify do their tracks of the year every year. You're joking. I'd actually really like that. Well, they do it with Tesco. If you, if you shocked with Tesco a lot, you'd get it. And like last year, it was like, yeah, it was like, you bought some like 90 pots of yoghurt and things like that. And when you see it like written like that, that is too much yogurt. I'm eating too much yogurt. Yes. Well, it is in one go, but over the course of a year, yeah, I'd love to see my fucking, my top 10. Matt, is this because you're buying it online? I think it must be. I think it's because it's online and it's through the club card. And so, because when you buy online, your club card is just sort of, you get, You get the club card out, do you? You get automatically, you know, it's automatically saved your account so you don't have to think about it.

So I think, yeah, I don't think about the club card being there. But obviously every time it's clicking on my club guard, you know. Okay. If you're in, if you find yourself into Tesco's, you've gone for, let's call it a takeaway now. Yeah. You've gone for Tesco's takeaway. Are you getting out your

Tesco's club cards or app to scan? Yes, I am. And the reason for that is because Tesco has

started doing that bloody...

It's like half price sometimes. Exactly. It's club card prices. It's mad. And that pisses

me off too, because I feel like they've introduced this thing now where it's like, it costs £90 or £10 with your club card.

And I actually saw something the other day in the press that they, like the, you know, one of those consumer standards bodies or whatever were saying, actually this is not allowed.

You really shouldn't be doing that because it's like exploitative of people who've not got club cards you know but is it free is it free to get a club card yeah yeah okay i think so do they break that down did they tell you how much you've saved with your club card across the year yeah yeah yeah and they give you points and all that kind of stuff.

And you're meant to be able to... That's the other thing with those points is every time, you know, they go, and you can't, you don't just use points for saving money. And I was think, yes, I do. There's no way I'm ever going to use points to buy tickets to Alton Towers or something, which is one of there, you know. And then... Quite tickets to Alton Towers, isn't it?

It's always stuff like that.
