In the sixth episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of Jake Notman.
On November 19, 2020, partners Jake Notman and Lauren Bloomer celebrated the release of the ninth generation video game console, the PlayStation 5.
In preparation, Jake had purchased an edible brownie which they both ate shortly before bed.
Jake, however, had a terrible trip, and in the early hours of November 20, 2020, he violently attacked and killed Lauren.
Lauren recorded the entire attack on her phone.
Jake Notman was found guilty of unlawful manslaughter and sentenced to 8 years and eight months imprisonment.
He will be eligible for release on license on November 23, 2025, two-thirds of the way into his sentence.
