In the second episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of Brian Blackwell.
On July 25, 2004, 18-year-old Brian Blackwell brutally murdered his parents, Sydney and Jackie Blackwell, with a claw hammer and a knife.
He stabbed his parents a total of 50 times between them.
After being diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) by three psychiatrists and two psychologists, Brian was found guilty of two counts of manslaughter due to diminished responsibility.
He was handed a life sentence on June 29, 2005, by Mr Justice Royce with a minimum term to serve of 12 years.
As the result of a parole board hearing in 2016, Brian was released from Swinfen Hall Young Offender's Institution and is now a free man.
