me excitedly and said they'd watched a really fun and interesting paranormal documentary for the BBC.

So call me skeptical, but I was hesitant to get enthusiastic about it, yet within minutes of turning it on, I knew that we had a lot to discuss and it was going to be fun.

This is 1975's The Ghost Hunters from producer Hugh Burnett.

Burnett was a cartoonist and documentarian who had made his name with films about the role of Christianity in South Africa's apartheid.

But in the mid-1970s, he made three films about the weirder parts of culture.
