So today we are recording a special episode. Twin Sisters and the Fate of Mates listeners, Kate and Kara, won the Romance for Haiti auction, which was last fall, I guess late last fall.

A million years ago.

And I know.

I was like, we're actually so, this is only three or four months later.

We're recording it.

Go us.

And we went back and forth with them about possible options.

And then they came up with a really fun idea, which is to talk about the role of the

break in case of emergency romance and some banter and talk about, like, which ones we have on

our lists.

And I think this will be a really fun episode.

No, you go first. Okay. I'm Sarah McLean. I read romance novels and I write them. And I'm Jennifer Procop, a romance reader and editor. And this was really a fun exercise for me because I realized that I have a number

of break in case of emergency books that I probably will never break in case of emergency.

Well, let's talk about what it is first because, I mean, obviously, if you, maybe you have or haven't heard it,

if you just listen but aren't on social media, you might not be aware with this phrase,

but, you know, I think you can all figure it out. But it's those books that you want to read,

probably you own, but for whatever reason, they are just waiting on the shelf in case.
