Rebecca Romney. She's a rare book stealer and recently put together something we have mentioned a couple times

in passing because it came out this summer. A collection of romance novel, like essentially it's called the romance novel in English. And it was a hundred lot collection of like first editions and other like sort of

romance paraphernalia yeah and it went to Lily Library at the University of Indiana and she is on today to talk to us about collecting and about romance and about collecting romance and about collecting romance and you know for everybody out there who has

shelves full of books like we even talked her about you know the kind of modern

collector what if there you are books right now? What can you do? It really was a

fascinating conversation. It was really interesting because I mean part of this collection, there's so many pieces of this collection that are amazing

fascinating to me was she has a few lots that are consecutive copies of

category romances, different category romance lines, and she has some really

interesting fascinating early editions of books that definitely have disappeared from most of our memories.

And one of the fascinating things about this conversation was this idea that romance is such a massive genre and still scarcity exists, right?

This idea that, you know, Harlequin presents number 200 could just be gone you know we might not have it anymore and that's

wild to me that it can both be a massive you know there were probably a hundred

thousand copies of Harlequin you know presents number 200 but they just get thrown away or, you know, you know, I don't know,
