I'm A-Ron. And today we're talking about season 3 episode 2 titled the Winter Line.

Aron, second viewing, what do you think of it?

So at my first viewing, I remember thinking this is a pretty straightforward plot and then we got to the instant take and people pointed out the aspect ratio changes and I started I made a joke about like you know oh what if

Maeve is actually there's two different timelines here and I started thinking about

it that night and the more I think about it the more I'm convinced that like every

other season of West world before they are trying to sell us on this twisted

timeline approach and I'm not sure exactly where it is, but I see, you know, I see signs of it. There's like some mysteries that would be neatly solved if we had multiple timelines. There's the kind of unexplainable decay and deterioration of Ford's shack, you know, it's all it's been less

than a hundred days since it was a pristine laboratory and now it looks like something Laura, Laura Croft or Indiana Jones would

discover in some kind of fucking tomb with the dust and the cobwebs.

So to that extent I still think it's incredible that in a single episode they move May from like,

you know, the thing that we are afraid of should be stuck in these worlds with no way out and they got her into the real world and I said in a single episode and I think that is pretty cool but I'm also hedging my bet because I think we've seen her in samurai world at some point in the trailers and it seems like that this maybe there's going to be simulations all the way down this season.

But yeah, no, I appreciate it didn't excite me.

Yeah, it doesn't excite me. It's unfortunate.

And the other, so the one, the big negative mark other than the double Ds showing up was,

you know, Stubbs' action scene, and I don't know if you saw this, but apparently the

hymsworth, the middle hymnsworth, as we're calling him now, the quite okay, perfectly fine

hymnsworth, tore his bicep off his bone two days before that was filmed,

making his left arm completely useless so they improvised and had him get shot in that shoulder to explain why he couldn't use it. And then I still think they should pay a little bit more attention

to how they frame and stage and block all their action.

But like I'm going to cut him a little slack

because a lot of the other action sequences have been choice in the first episode
