So at first I told Sarah I was like you know we can just take a week off of the podcast like

faded mates will survive but Sarah was like well you should just record

something by yourself and I thought well that sounds like it would be really boring

for a lot of people and then

Sarah said Kate could come on you guys could do an episode together and I said yes.

Yes and we we really had the perfect idea in honor of Sarah's absence.

And this is Kate one of your favorite things.

It's one of my favorite things.

So I'm gonna say what it is and then we're going to talk about why you love it which is

in a romance when there is a sickbed scene. I love it. I want to clarify that these are pretty different than like someone with a chronic illness.

This is really something has happened and someone's sick in their bed.

Yes, like it's often an acute sickness.

Yes. And this hugely works for me in romance.

I love scenes like this.

They are scenes that blooded me as a romance reader to stick to the theme of your season.

Now, Kate, why do you love these so much?

I like them for a couple of reasons. One reason is because, as all know when I am reading a romance I enjoy it

when there is a hero suffering. So a good way to see a hero suffer is when his sort of beloved person is ill. So I enjoy it for that.

And then I also, I think one reason I enjoy it, and I should clarify here, I do often enjoy it's
