Yes indeed it is the State of the Union.

This is what I have to say about the state of American soccer today.

The U.S. men's national team is going to name a technical

director and that person needs to establish, define, and articulate a clear

soccer identity for this team. Now we don't have to agree with it, but we all need to

understand it. However, that's easier said than done in our unique country.

Because while our diversity is what makes the US the greatest country in the world.

It also poses our biggest challenge to putting a successful soccer team on the field.

Because with that incredible diversity comes incredible diversity of thought.
