Welcome to the Hackett Out Golf Podcast. I've got three questions for the team today, me, Lou and Greg, in the house, the Hackett Out House. First question straight to it. So is it ashamed that September, which is basically dedicated to the Rider Cup every two years, is it a bit of a shame that it's most of the world, it doesn't really mean that much to, or lots of the world, it might not mean

that much too, because obviously it's Europe v. America. At the moment, as we film this, it's pre-Rider Cup. You'll be listening to this, the Post-Rider Cup. Don't in any way think I'm not a fan of the Rider Cup. I am, and I love it, and I'm enjoying it, and I can't wait for the tournament. I'm just asking a question which popped into my head because someone like

Greg who comes from Australia originally, like if you were at home in Australia, you might follow

this, but you don't really care that much, do you? Um, in not really. You know, like I, I, I care

because I love good golf and I love seeing great players go head to head.

So I grew up, I would watch the writer cup, but I wouldn't be like fully invested

like, do I care if either side wins?

You know what I mean?

Like it's something I watch kind of from the periphery in terms of whether or not I care,

but I do enjoy watching.

I always enjoy watching players play under

intense pressure. And these team environments, it's very, very different in that the players,

usually players play their way into high pressure situations. In this situation, they are

always under high pressure regardless of performance. So they stand on that first tee. And what

you have is what you have and you have to deal with it. So that's what I do love about this. But I understand, you know, for a lot of people, if you don't love just watching, you know, the best players or some group, some of the best players playing, then this, you might tap out. You know, you might be like, this is not for me.

I'm not from any of these regions. I get it. Yeah. Yeah. So me and Lou are both invested in chess. He's American. I'm European or UK. So we have horses in the race. Do you have any feelings of it's a bit selfish for us, Lou, at all? that, you know, it seems a bit unfair that this is,

the golfing world is focused on this.
