And before we get to our college football playoff breakdown, I want to ask you, what is the one part of this time of year that you cannot live without?

I just love the weirdness, man.

I love the weirdness of the bowl games.

I mean, as we record this, this is just 24 hours after the Pop-Tarts bowl unveiled its new statue.

They partner with General Electric.

And the football, the big silver football on top of the statue is a working toaster.

I'm a big trophy guy.

One of the first things I do when I go to any college football campus, any building, is I go look at their bowl trophies.

And you cannot beat a trophy that is also a working kitchen appliance.

That's the most bold thing I can possibly come up with.

I mean, dude, come on, dancing cheez-its and race car drivers, you know, slinging college football players around the Charlotte

Motor Speedway at 180 miles per hour. I love bowl games because they're weird. And they remind me of

everything I love about college football because there's no other sport in the world that has this.

I just, I love it. And beyond that, in your story and history of bowl games, as a reporter, and also tagging along with your dad's legendary referee, what is the greatest bowl game that you have ever attended?

Gosh, I mean, with my father, the 1997 Rose Bowl, I was sitting in the stands and Jake Plummer, Jake the Snake, had one of the greatest

runs I've ever seen, scored with less than two minutes to go.

Plummer in trouble, steps away, cuts three, breaks loose, five, touchdown, Sun Devils.

The Snake does it again. this team won't die the Arizona

state fans who reminded me a lot of my NASCAR people they all showed up to Pasadena RVs and tents and

everything they lost their minds and then Arizona State decided to come back with this pooch kickoff

with less than two minutes to go
