mr. godusky how are you buddy good how's it going i'm pretty good so how are you feeling

about the state of republican politics these days how's it going broad question um i mean, I think overall, we're at this very weird precipice where we have a lot of older people in the party or a lot of older thoughts in the party and we have a new right emerging.

That's trying to make peace with, I think, the fact that the party has changed a lot

in the last 25 years in the sense of where our bases, you know, we would always count on

suburban, usually white voters on issues like crime and the economy as the bread and butter

of the party that gets selected.

That base has moved.

Substantially, it's now more working class.

It's slightly more ethnically diverse than it used to be.

And that change in our electorate requires a change in policy

that is uncomfortable for people who were kind of born and bred in the Reagan era.

And there are some politicians who are still trying to get it and trying to figure out a way forward with it and are still uncomfortable with things like spending on things like infrastructure or trying to change the way the trade works in the economy

or who are still extremely hawkish on foreign events.
