And we're back here on Buckeye Talk. I'm Stephen Means and I'm joined by Ohio State football coach Ryan Day where he's going to reveal who the starting quarterback is.

No, but in all seriousness, you've handled every quarterback situation in its own precious way, right?

With Justin Fields, I remember asking you in Chicago, why don't you just name him the starter?

We know why you brought him in, and you were talking about how he had earned it while with CJ maybe around the same timeline for him while with Kyle

McCord and Devon Brown you let it go into the season when you've got five guys in a

room and you're also trying to prepare for a season how different is

preparing this this group of quarterbacks and maybe how you handle it this time around

to compare us in other ways. I think this this group every year is a little bit different but when you think

about you know Julian when you think about air and then you think about will you know they

get there in January we start in February they don't have a great handle on the offense yet

you know Lincoln had been you know not a full year in but at least had the fall and the Devon had been a couple years

in so what I wanted to do is make sure that, you know,

at least it was an equal playing field

in terms of understanding of the offense.

I think now going into the preseason,

these guys will all at least have, you you know six months of being in the offense

understanding you know the run game understanding the you know the passing game protections

and that'll give us a better idea of kind of where they are because you know when you're doing
