Sometimes in these episodes, I talk to bestselling authors and elite performers and other guests.

But lately, I've also been having conversations with my wife, Samantha, the co-parent

of my two boys. And we do it over in the Daily Stoic studio here in Bastrop, Texas. And she and I

talk about things that we're working on as parents, things that we're working on as people,

and how we are supporting each other, challenging each other,

and like I said, trying to get better at what we do.

Are we starting or are you telling it to me first? Oh, like you do for me. No, no, no. I'm asking. I'm asking. I was going to start. By all means. Well, now I can't. I've lost of thought. All right. What are we talking about? I'm going to need a minute. What are we talking about? I mean, I feel like this is probably like we probably would need more planning,

which is not something that we're capable of doing to have this conversation fully.

But I feel like it would be really great to get an idea.

If you were a first time, dad.

And you had no idea, like what that really meant what is something

that you could hear that would prepare you for parenthood not even just with like with kids

but like with the relationship with like logistics.

What are things that like, I would say, I'm going to be kind of an asshole.

I would say that it took you like three years to really like lean into the rhythm of parenthood. Huh. Huh. Okay.

And get to closer to where we are now. If there's things at that point that you knew going into it so you could have prepared well i think

in our society in a society where there isn't um an expectation and certainly not a um

economic space for like paternity leave, it takes a while to catch up as a dad because you're not
