It sounds like a policy from a political farce, but Britain's conservative government

is pressing ahead with a controversial new way of dealing with refugees.

Under this partnership, those who travel to the UK by illegal and dangerous routes,

including by small boats across the channel, may be relocated to Rwanda, where they will

have a silent plane considered.

The plan, set out by the Home Secretary, Pretty Patel, is a straightforward one.

Try to enter the country illegally and you could be flown 6,500 kilometers to Rwanda, no

matter where you've come from.

Opposition has come from all sides, predictably from the leader of the Labour Party, Kierst

Starmer.

They're unworkable, they're extortion, they're going to cost taxpayers billions of pounds.

I think it's a desperate announcement.
