Hey everybody. This is Kyle Skona-Will from Friends from Work. And before I return you to your

0:05.9

previously scheduled programming, I wanted to quick give you an update on something we talked about

0:10.9

last Thursday on our What's New in the MCU episode. We talked about how Spider-Man was not going

0:16.8

to be in the MCU because Disney and Sony could not work out a deal. But breaking news,

0:22.3

as of Thursday night late, right after we put out that episode, Sony and Marvel worked out a deal

0:29.1

to set Spider-Man in the MCU again for at least two more movies. There will be a third solo

0:36.4

Spider-Man movie releasing on July 16, 2021. And as part of this

0:41.9

deal, he is also going to be appearing in another Marvel movie that we don't know yet. So that could be

0:47.6

an Avengers movie that could be something else. But for now, we at least have Spider-Man back for two

0:52.8

more movies. I'll save any excess commentary

0:55.4

that I have for a later date, as I'm sure Robbie and I will be getting into this a lot in

1:00.1

the coming weeks. But needless to say, everybody's obviously very excited. Sony's excited,

1:05.9

Marvel's excited, and we as fans of Spider-Man and the MCU are very excited about this news.

1:11.9

It's just for two films for now, but hopefully that just gets us started and they can work

1:16.2

out some more deals for more films in the future.

1:19.8

Robert Lawson and the chief communications officer for Sony Pictures said we had a great

1:23.8

collaboration over the last four years and our mutual desire to continue was equal to that

1:28.8

of many fans. We are delighted to be moving forward together. As are we, Robert. I now return

1:35.1

you to your previously scheduled programming of our breakdown of Iron Man One. Thanks for listening.

1:53.4

All right, all right, all right, Robbie. We're back, baby.

1:58.3

We're back on the Friends from Work podcast, but this episode is going to be about Iron Man One, which gets old Kyle real excited.

2:01.1

Oh, there he is.
