But first, the verdict is in for a weapon specialist charged in the death of a crew member.

Let's jump right in.

We go to Santa Fe, New Mexico where jurors have convicted a weapons supervisor of involuntary

manslaughter for an on-set death in Alec Baldwin's movie, Rust.

Hannah Gutierrez Reed faces up to 18 months in prison for the shooting that

killed cinematographer Helena Hutchins. Throughout the trial

prosecutors alleged that Reed had acted criminally negligent missing multiple safeguards and checks that could have prevented the death.

In closing arguments, prosecutors claimed that Reed made, quote, constant, never-ending safety failures that resulted in the death of a human

being. While Reed's defense contended prosecutors could not prove how live ammunition

arrived on the film set. Jurors later told media outlets that the major factor was Reed not checking the firearms prior to the death.

Both prosecutors and Reed's defense made multiple references to Baldwin's alleged reckless behavior which will undoubtedly become a focus again as the actor faces a jury trial of his own.

The judge ordered Reed to be detained ahead is scheduled for July 9th of this year.
